Pesto Genovese, from Seed to Plate

At the beginning of the month, the society welcomed back Paolo Arrigo (from Seeds of Italy) for our first talk of 2018 who gave us his insight into “Pesto Genovese from Seed to Plate”. It was a fantastic evening, which started with Paolo entertaining us with his famous accordion skills. There was a live demonstration on how to make our very own Pesto Genovese at home (with samples to taste), as well as ideas for growing Italian varieties of common crops such as tomato’s, cucumbers, herbs and more. Members were able to buy some of the wonderful seeds on display to try at home in their own gardens and it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
