TALKS – Autumn 2019 to Spring 2020

The TALKS are held at the Baptist Church, Sherwood Avenue, The Quadrant, Marshalswick AL4 9QL at 7.30pm. The visitor’s fee is £3.

Monday 2nd September 2019 – “Plants that Excite: A Personal Selection” by Dr Andrew Ward

Dr Ward is from Norwell Nurseries. There will be plants for sale.

Monday 7th October 2019 – “Distinctive Containers – Autumn through to Spring” by Kathy Brown

Monday 4th November 2019 – “Weeds and the Weed-free Garden” by Geoff Hodge

Monday 2nd December 2019 – “Flower Power – How Plants Control Animals” by Dr Brenda Harold

Monday 3rd February 2020 – “Canterbury Catherdral Gardens and Grounds” and “Plant Collections – from plant hunters to modern day collections” by Philip Oostenbrink

Philip is the Head Gardener at Canterbury Catherdral Gardens, and is also the National Collection Holder of Aspidistra elatior & sichuanensis cultivars, Hakonechloa macra & cultivars, and Ophiopogon japonicus cultivars. Philip will be delighting us with two talks, and there will also be plants for sale.

Monday 2nd March 2020 – “Colin’s Choice” by Colin Ward of Swines Meadow Farm Nursey

Colin is back to talk to us about is personal choice of plant selections, and there will be plants for sale.
